Lips

Lips is an approach to investigate the used consumables in our daily lives. The everyday objects like mugs, as we used them longer, they start developing their own worn texture. This defect mark is perceived as “damaged” and they are being disposed of. How might we preserve their unique texture of the haptic marks, while embracing the reuse mindset?

These used objects possessed an unadorned edge, which can be attractive to preserve this texture with black lacquer. The body is cut from an aluminum container. The Metal & plastic cap are recoated with black lacquer. The Inner Surface is sculpted with Clay. The Matt Black metal body is combined with the high gloss black sculpted clay creating a high contrast look.
