“Au fil des nuits”

A bed ornament reinterpreting the myth of Echo and Narcissus through marquetry, an innovative project that blends craftsmanship with contemporary design. (2000m*1600m)

This marquetry bed ornament combines design and craftsmanship to create much more than a mere decorative element. With its suggestive patterns, it tells a visual story and invites introspection through symbolic language. This piece redefines interior design, offering an immersive experience where art and function unite. By integrating traditional artisanal techniques with a contemporary approach, it symbolizes excellence and innovation in craftsmanship, illustrating the transformative power of art in our living spaces.

    For this project I was inspired by Japonism. The shape of this ornament represents a cherry tree. This from is made from American walnut.IMG_8875

    Here, the flowers is made with lemon veneer and hornbeam veneer.IMG_3661

    In the middle, the heart of the flower is made of brass to create a dynamic play of light with light reflexions.IMG_3662

    Finally, here i added pieces of massive lemon wood to add this perpetual movement of flowers and further enhance the immersive experience.IMG_3663

    And there is ornamental engraving on it to add this effect of movement in the flower.
