Stool Glavy Roda

About Project

The Challenge
To create a chair for the head of the family, highlighting the greatness, significance, status, level of responsibility, similar to the sacred meaning of the throne.

Strategy
The study of chairs and thrones of different nationalities from the pharaohs of Egypt to the end of the 19th century made it possible to understand what techniques were used to emphasize the greatness and importance of a person. It was revealed that the key qualities of people sitting on the throne are rigor, high organization, self-discipline, responsibility for themselves and their families. It became possible to embody these qualities through form, elements, and color combinations. To strengthen the project, the studio turned to the Neverovs’ carpentry workshop. The craftsmen helped determine the suitable material, solve the design and layout problem, and implement a new product prototype.

Product
The ascetic shape, right angles, the shape of the circle allow demonstrating the strength and determination of the owner. Conceived a minimum of stylistic elements to maintain the style at all times; a combination of three legs for better stability; an optimal position of the armrests and backrest to ensure an ergonomic fit; for ease of movement, a recess is provided on the back of the chair. The large and small ornament on the back symbolizes the sign of the Sun, inherent in many peoples and nationalities, as an image of the main light and wisdom. The sign on the back of the chair can be customized in a word, emblem, or other symbols.

Experience
The laconic design allows the chair to organically fit into the interior of a modern house or apartment; it is well suited for a work area or office. The simple construction of a wooden chair will last a long time, passing from generation to generation. The chair’s design allows it to make it from various materials, give it the desired color and texture, and complement it with accessories.
