About Project

Burn and rise collection of rugs is inspired by «Burning Man» festival.

The festival which gathers free and creative people from around the world to create temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression and self-reliance. For me It is an ode to non-conformism, open minded people, creativity and equality of people regardless of their social and financial status. It is an ode to those, who break boundaries of all social restrictions to splash a creativity to build a better society.

I think this collection is also a result not only of festival inspiration but a personal experience of what is happening in Belarus now. My thoughts of freedom and rising of my country are reflected through this collection inspired by probably the most life-affirming, constructive and positive event in the world. All designs are metaphors of our belarusian reality: long way in dunes to sunrise, open mind and finally burning of an old world to rise for a new one.

Technical details.

Collection supposes using of wool and botanical silk and different effects of rugs productions.

Open mind design involves use of a multilevel fibers of the rug with different density of knots and carving. Pile composition is 100% wool.

Sunrise design involves use of a gradient and a little carving on the perimeter of geometrical elements. Pile composition: botanical silk and wool.

At Sunrise design I would like to use 3d effect which is achieved by a multilevel pile as good as combination with gradient in a light blue version. Pile composition: 100% wood or combination of wool and botanical silk.

At Burn & Rise design I would like to do a different pile weaving and carving of yellow lines. Pile composition: combination of wool and botanical silk.
