Ribell – collection of bronze bells
About Project
The collaboration between Josef and Jan was based on their long-term acquaintance, as they both come from the same region in the Czech Republic and studied together at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Turnov. Josef went on to university and graduated from the product design studio in Ústí nad Labem and works as a product designer. Jan is dedicated to the artistic casting of bells, he took over this craft from his father, who founded the company in 1990. Although everyone is engaged in a different profession, they have joined forces to create a comprehensive collection of bells. The bells were created with the idea of using them at the receptions of bars, hotels, restaurants and other places where it is necessary to use the sound of a bell to call staff.
The set includes a reception bell with a button, a bell with a handle, a bell on the console and a small bell with a ring. The castings are made of a bronze alloy called bell, complemented by wooden and steel components. The inspiration for the design of the collection was the term RIB, which is used in the bell-making craft to denote the cut of a bell.
