NO1190
About Project
The NO1190 chair brings an innovative look at the design and individualization of a classic chair.
It has a unique, user-friendly backrest and seating replacement system that offers consumers individualized product. This makes it easy to create different color and material combinations while maintaining the same chair design. Another unique element is the atypically placed grip handle in the seating area. This solution helps to comfortably handle the chair and at the same time is a mechanism for changing and folding the backrest.
The chair consists of a bent seat part that smoothly transitions into the hind legs. The front legs remain straight, classic construction. The body of the chair consists of a solid structure A, which is shaped by part B, and part C is subsequently made from this part. The mechanism D then firmly connects all parts together. Thanks to this, the backrest allows light suspension, increasing the comfort of the chair. The bent seat is therefore not just a special look at the design,
but at the same time it tries to minimize material waste during production with this well-thought-out design. The bent parts are made of beech plywood, the straight parts are made of solid beech.
An important moment in the design of the chair was to find a suitable bending radius of the seat, so that the material from it was then suitable for its backrest.
This concept allows end users to purchase Part C separately at any time and create new combinations of existing chairs as needed. For example, following a change in the color scheme of the interior of the restaurant, or an upholstered backrest can be used to create a more comfortable chair, etc.
