L’amour Table lamp
About Project
The concept of love and how soulmates find each other in an unexpected situation or from two completely different worlds has always been a challenge for me. In this design, growth and light used as a symbol of love and its purpose to show how this feeling fructifies in a very simple mechanism and a simple form.
In this project, two lovers are simulated to two ivies that are getting closer by growing from two different directions. The light bulb symbolizes their love. When they are separated the light goes out and as we keep them close the light shines brightly. When they are joined the light will shine in its highest luminosity.
The body is made of metal plated with chrome and also there is a sensor in each body. When the sensors sense each other the light turns on and as they get closer light will get bright.

This lighting is inspired by two soulmates getting together by growing from two contrary sides just like two ivies and they reach to the love. This product reflects how love can bring two discrete people together and when they are completely linked, they will shine.

The lighting has two parts. One part connects to the electricity and the other part works as an on/off key by moving close and far. Each of these parts has a sensor in its body. They make connection by getting close so we can set any amount of light by moving them.

This mechanism somehow wanted to show having a feeling for someone will end up in love and shining so there is two simple sensors in the bodies that are sensitive to each other's presence and when they connect the light turns on.
