Kurchi

About Project

‘Kurchi’ in an Indian regional language, Kannada simply means chair. This chair encourages one to sit cross-legged which is widely practiced in all parts of India, Showcasing the traditional ancient Indian craftsmanship, Some of the ornamentation on the chair is also partially inspired from the beautifully stone-carved pillars of the South Indian temples. The chair follows the traditional methods of using hardwood as a primary material, with brass inlays on ornamentation.
