Korsineh

About Project

Our purpose was not merely to design a chair or sofa, but beyond the production of a chair, we were thinking of creating a different experience of seat that would be a factor in creating a pleasant and memorable experience.
So we put the starting point of our design, a social event that revolved around a traditional object as a iranian seat calles “Korsi”.
The “Korsi” is an almost short, square and wooden table, which is covered with a special quilt woven rug(ru korsi) .Korsi is a public domain which had made people to speak and interaction.
In the design of the “Korsineh”,the social function of Korsi, its warmth and intimacy was borrowed, which was created to be located in private gardens and outdoor .We also broke the geometric boundary around the volume and penetrvated inside it to emphasize the intimacy component, in such a way that two people sit in both side of the seat, get closer to each other by penetrating the volume and have a conversation.
Materials: predicted materials for the designed seat(Korsineh) includes wood, copper at the edges to visually emphasize the influence of volume, green velvet for the cushions of the seats and rope for emboss rug patterns on the body which is obtained
from woven rug(ru korsi).
