Komorebi
About Project
Komorebi storage system brings the forest illusion into your home. It was created for two purposes. The primary, functional goal was to create a logical ease of use storage and space separation for a wider target group. We usually put our storages against the wall, without the use of their full appearance and additional facilities. With this furniture you can create a divider according to your own needs. The elements of the furniture can be stacked and rotated, so in addition to building upwards, you can also modify them horizontally, so they can be used from the front and back. There are 5 types of shelves that include a general shelf, as well as various boxes that can be rotated so they can be used in even more ways. The frame can be stacked, which consists of 2 types, a higher and a lower version. Furthermore, the furniture set includes 2 types of cover elements, which are modular, easy to move between the shelves, thus controlling which side of the object can be used.
Moreover the emotional content and concept of the object is the respect for nature. That’s why the name Komorebi was chosen. It is a Japanese word for sunlight, which is filtered through the leaves of the trees. This is indicated by the furniture, which forms a wall but does not completely cover the other side.
The material is oak and black coloured MDF treated with natural oil on its surface and the joints inspired by traditional wood crafts.
