About Project

Jazz Inspired Lamp Series was created during my thesis work at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The original version was designed from a Benny Goodman tune using the musical elements and transforming those elements into basic design principles that could be applied to a piece of furniture. This piece is very gestural and playful and many variations have been made all similar yet none that are the same. These pieces use a heavy dose of veneer and inlay and are combined with a solid brass cluster head that houses led bulbs and features a glass shade.
