About Project

Inspiration :
All baby cribs are made from flatbed floors and fences. The innocent face of the children feels captivity from behind the vertical fences of the crib.
This crib was inspired by a carousel merry-go-round, which is one of the most popular kids’ games in the amusement park. It instills a sense of calm and happiness for the kids.

Unique Properties :
This crib is made of two completely handmade pieces of wood and fabric that are fixed inside each other. Carousel’s wooden horses evoke a sense of play and excitement, and its soft bed evokes their gentle and quiet rides. All the woodcarving plans on the bed inspired by Carousel motifs have a message of movement and relaxation. The exciting and different design and comfortable ergonomics of this bed is a transition from the regular production of cribs to the children’s spirits, a child who wants to separate his sleeping place from the parents. So this bed will be interesting and encouraging.

Description/Flow/Interaction:
In this work, which is quite intuitive, recalling the movement of carousel horses, which is very similar to the wave movement of that children sleep comfortably with this movement, causes the children a pleasant, relaxed, and fun sleep. The inside of the bed is lined with soft materials and has very suitable ergonomics for the child’s sleep. Each of the horses in the exterior is a toy for toddlers.

Material/Production:
According to the ergonomics of the children’s room, all the wooden parts of the bed and the foundations are made of round and soft organic lines, and the wood and paint used in this work are entirely natural and organic and suitable for the child to use.

Research:
The primary research was about carousel types and their artistic details and how to translate them into the furniture industry. Studying the types of wood fittings was very important to find the best and most resistant way to connect carousel fences and horses to the mainframe. Investigating the most significant criteria for buyers for choosing children’s furniture in different cultures and finding the appropriate ergonomic dimensions for the bed’s production that meet users’ needs. Choosing the right color for wood and fabric that is suitable for sleeping.
10-Challenge:
The most significant challenge of this work was how to turn the mental idea into a manual design and then build it. Also, Build horse sculptures with elegance and find their best connection to the crib, proper composition of hand-inlaid details using organic motifs inspired by the carousel so that it induces childish amusement were the challenges of building and implementing it.
