“Balestra” paddy table
About Project
Balestra means “crossbow” in Italian.
It’s a premium furniture design in the line of paddy (footrest) tables invented in 2019. It combines three furniture units in one: coffee table, footrest and bed-side table.
The basis of the functional innovation of this product is a comprehensive rest of a person in the process of sitting (on a sofa/armchair). This is achieved by placing and relaxing legs on specially designed pads of the table, which, in turn, reduce the load on the cardiovascular and muscular systems of the body, as well as on the spine.
Any object on the ledge of the tabletop is easily reached by the seated person without leaning forward. That is especially important for lazy bones :), the elderly or disabled.
The shelf under the tabletop will keep everything you need at a reach of a hand: your smartphone, TV-remote, book or eyeglasses.
Balestra is made of natural, eco-friendly and recyclable materials of high quality such as: oak, smoked tempered glass, polished stainless steel and alcantara. Material combination and style of Balestra were inspired by Cavoir desk of Carlo Mollino and by Omaggio desk of Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance. Swift lines, smooth curves and airy construction convey all the expression and elegance of Italian modernism.
Nowadays Balestra has no constructive or aesthetic analogues in the world of furniture and brings home comfort experience to a new level.
