The RACK

The RACK chair is designed to provide a better dining experience for customers of fast casual restaurants. Being the majority of the catering industry, fast casual restaurants is a popular category positioned between the full-service bistro and the typical fast food establishments. Due to its characteristics of affordable price and quality food, such restaurants have become popular for students and office workers. Based on this user group, the rack chair is designed to be a function-focused product with maneuverability and storage ability in mind.

Built out of various types of solid wood(walnut, Baltic birch, and pine), the RACK chair emphasizes on the concept of multi-functionalism to improve customers’ experience while dining. The backrest of the RACK chair is incorporated with a coat hanger design and a pull handle so the user can easily move the chair and hang his/her garments, while the tray design underneath the seat can be used to store belongings (backpacks and tote bags) for the users.
