Chair—Armchair—Lounger: 3 in 1

Imagine three pieces of furniture. Not just from the same collection, but similar to each other, like drops of the same paint or identical wooden bars. They are close relatives or even twins.

Here is a chaise longue that invites us to sit back and relax, without losing the feeling of a solid foundation. Here is an armchair in which you can read a book, scroll through social networks, and drink coffee without fear of spoiling the upholstery with terrible stains. Here is a chair that reminds us of business, and at the same time suggests a fascinating, fun, bright approach to work.

And now let’s take these three things first to the beach or the summer lawn, then drag them to the veranda, then put them in the office room. For some convenience, we can load all this stuff on a wheelbarrow. It’s going to be fun, isn’t it?.. But rather tedious and, perhaps, stupid.

But why would a person need three big things at once, and even a wheelbarrow to boot, unless he is a loader or a clown? Perhaps one can do with one subject. Just need a transformer, a light furniture transformer on wheels. Versatility is always preferable, unless, of course, it is thought out in detail.

This is how this furniture project was conceived and designed, inspired by the traditions of functional constructivism of Bauhaus and Vkhutemas and executed on the centennial anniversary of these great design schools.

So, a large lounger can be turned over — you will get a spacious armchair, and at the next flip — a wide chair. Wooden bars and thin steel carriers provide lightness and structural strength with impressive dimensions. And durable plywood wheels help to turn this furniture transformer and to roll it even on uneven surfaces, such as a garden path or lawn.

The natural colour of wood, the bright water enamel, the steel… The combination of simple, reliable and eco-friendly materials corresponds to the clear design idea of this item, which can be expressed by the motto: “Simple, convenient, reliable, affordable, optimistic, expressive!”

Materials: solid pine, stainless steel, natural linseed oil, acrylic water enamel. Dimensions: 1115×640×1320 mm.
