January Chair

A triangular profile moves in three loops to form this iconic piece of seating furniture.

Although the January Chair clearly encloses a volume and is made from several sheets of metal, geometrically it consists of just one surface.

A unique geometric sculpture that invites you to sit down.

The surfaces that form the triangular profile are twisted like a Möbius strip. If you were to glide along the surfaces, you would arrive back at the starting point after an exciting ride.

From every perspective, the shape appears to be in motion.

The January Chair is welded together from steel or aluminum sheets. The sheets are bent after being cut to size. It is not necessary to drive or deep-draw the sheets.  In order to stand securely and protect the floor, an additional surface has been added at the three standpoints.

The January Chair is 580 mm wide, 880 mm high and 630 mm deep.
